I don't plan on watching. But Norman Lear did not create The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes like ABC claimed in their promo.

I was unaware that such a show was on. That's OK; I wasn't going to watch it anyway.

It was ok. I would have liked to have seen more interviews of the people that were on his original shows. Most of the one's that spoke I had never heard of. I was glad they panned the audience or we would have not seen any of the original stars. They could have at least had Marla had a scene where her and Norman talk. Or at least have interviewed her. Jackee was interviewed. I believe The Facts of Life and Different Strokes were from spinoff companies that Norman was involved with.

Unnecessary is a key word. Why take it into the gutter?

I was disappointed that Sanford and Son was not highlighted either. Really most of the special was a let down. Sanford and Son was a huge hit and deserved more recognition. They mentioned Mary Hartman because of the actress that is going to play her spoke. I did enjoy Tom Hanks but he was not even on any of his shows. I do not think Sally Struthers was there.

So the people that were there that were on his shows, including shows produced by his production companies that he was not directly involved with, were Rob Reiner from All in the Family, Bernadette Stanis from Good Times, Marla Gibbs from The Jeffersons and 227, Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli from One Day at a Time, Lisa Whelchel, Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, and Nancy McKeon from The Facts of Life, Jackee Harry from 227, and Tony Danza from Who’s the Boss?. There was no one there from Sanford and Son, Maude, or Diff’rent Strokes. Besides Demond Wilson and Adrienne Barbeau, there’s not really too many other still living from Sanford and Son or Maude. Not many left from Diff’rent Strokes either, but I saw a post that Todd Bridges just got married this week so that may have been why he was absent.

That was odd. Also odd they never mentioned Diff’rent Strokes at all but all four Facts of Life girls were there and the song was even sung.
