Continuing to look over seasons 1 and 2, maybe point out Robert Manden from Soap in How To Succeed Without Trying. And Fran Ryan, Julie’s nurse in Julie’s Operation, was Eve, the owner of Eve’s Leaves in The Dress Designer episode.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll include them.

I'm really just adding the trivia randomly at the moment. I was originally going to list every guest star and some work they've done but that would be a lot. So, I'm just picking and choosing some instead. Obviously, the big names, but I'll list some others as well to keep it interesting.

That's how I figured it'd go, since you're doing the heavy lifting. You'd put whatever trivia you wanted, and I'd add anything else I could think of. You can then cherry pick and decide if you want to use what I said in the "official" listing. If you use it, great, if not, it'd still be down here for people to read.

Alternative universe possibility: An episode of All In The Family involved the attempted rape of Edith Bunker. The story goes that this storyline was first developed for Ann Romano

The rapist there ended up being played by David Dukes. So whenever I see this one I think maybe in an alternate universe the maestro is attemting to rape Ann instead of romancing her.

(This is probably less trivia and more my warped imagination)

It's probably just me, but I can't find what the * means next to Shelley Fabares name in episode 208.

Edit: I see it in several previous episodes, too. If I go back far enough, maybe I'll see it.

Edit again: I think I traced the * back to #196, but still no clue what it means.

Since you gave a shout out to Peter Brady in Barbara’s Emergence you must, I say must, shout out Jan and Cousin Oliver. Equal time laws, and all that.

After she went from closing credits to opening credits, eventually she was out of the opening credits, but when she was in an episode she would get a special mention as the show began. The asterisks are those episodes.

OK, thanks, that makes sense. When I went back a little further, evidently they goofed and left in her mention a couple of times, but she wasn't in the episode, which he marked ABSENT.

Sometimes they had her in the credits but she didn't appear in the episode. For those, I marked "ABSENT". And then in the 9th season, she was only credited for the episodes she appeared in. The same with Mackenzie Phillips in the last couple of seasons.

Yes, I plan to. Good call on Cousin Oliver, though. I missed that one.

That would make the episode more interesting, lol. I recall being quite bored while watching it. It's my least favorite of the first two seasons.

If the Schneider pilot would have been picked up and went to series, The Pinball Player would have been the breakout character.

Did they ever explain where Alex went for the last season? I don't recall and I obviously haven't seen the episodes in awhile.

It's mentioned in the first episode of the 9th season, "Shakedown".

Mark gets a card from Alex and asks Ann when he's coming home. She responds with:

Ann: "He decided to spend the semester with his mother. Frankly, I've got mixed emotions about it.

As far as I know, they never mention him again. A rather pathetic ending if you ask me. I'd like to have a goodbye scene between him and Ann, Schneider, Barbara and the rest. He was family for two years and suddenly, POOF, he's gone.
