I’m listing every 1950s sitcom that’s included on this board and will state which ones I’ve seen, haven’t seen, like and don’t like. I’ll be doing this for each decade.
The Abbott and Costello Show – I’ve seen quite a few episodes and enjoy the series. I own both seasons on DVD. The Adventures of Hiram Holiday – I’ve never seen this. The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet – I’ve seen maybe a handful of episodes over the years. I intend to buy the seasons sets on DVD. The Aldrich Family – I have seen one episode from 1949 or YouTube. It was quite interesting. I’d love to see more. Amos ‘n’ Andy – I’ve seen a handful of episodes and was interested in what I saw. Many years ago, I bought all of the surviving episodes on VHS from Ebay. The Ann Sothern Show – I know I’ve seen an episode of this many years ago and don’t remember a thing about it. Bachelor Father – I’ve never seen a complete episode but I caught the end of one a few days ago on Antenna TV. It looked good. The Betty Hutton Show / Goldie – I’ve never seen this. Beulah – I’ve seen a couple of episodes on YouTube. It’s interesting. It wasn’t all that funny to me, but I was enjoying it. Blondie – I own all 26 episodes on DVD. I’ve only seen a very little bit of this, not even a complete episode. It’s alright from what I saw. The Bob Cummings Show / Love That Bob – I have a handful of episodes on DVD and I like what I saw. If they released this in season sets, I’d buy it. Colonel Humphrey Flack – I’ve never seen this. Date with the Angels – I’ve watched the opening. I notice 21 episodes are on YouTube, so I’ll probably watch them one day. December Bride – I’ve never seen this. The Dennis Day Show / The RCA Victor Show – I’ve never seen this. Dick and the Dutchess – I’ve never seen this. Ethel and Albert – I’ve never seen this. The Eve Arden Show – I’ve never seen this. Father Knows Best – I’ve seen a few episodes and own the complete series on DVD. I like it. Fibber McGee and Molly – I’ve never seen this. The Gale Storm Show / Oh, Susanna – I’ve never seen this. The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show – I’ve seen a few episodes and really enjoy it. I hope they release season sets on DVD or put it on streaming. The Goldbergs – I’ve seen a few episodes. It’s a little slow, but I like it. I own the DVD boxset with all surviving episodes. The Hank McCune Show – I’ve seen one clip of one episode and that’s all. Hey, Jeannie! / The Jeannie Carson Show – I’ve never seen this. The Honeymooners – I’ve seen all 39 episodes, own them on DVD, used to own them on VHS. One of my all-time favorite sitcoms! How to Marry a Millionaire – I’ve seen most of the episodes and absolutely love this series. I own all 52 episodes on DVD. I Love Lucy – I grew up with this show. I’ve seen every episode and love this show. It’s one of my all-time favorite sitcoms! I Married Joan – I’ve seen a few episodes. It’s okay, but feels like an I Love Lucy rip-off. It’s a Great Life – I’ve never seen this. The Jack Benny Program – I’ve seen a few episodes and found it to be very funny. I’d love to see more. Leave It To Beaver – I’ve seen many episodes (but probably not all of them). I own all seasons on DVD. I like it. The Life of Riley – (1949) I own all 26 episodes on DVD. I like it. (1953) I’ve seen a handful of episodes and like it. I wish they’re release season sets on DVD. Life with Elizabeth – I’ve seen a couple of episodes. I like it. Life with Father – I’ve never seen this. Love and Marriage – I’ve seen a few minutes of an episode. Prime Video had some episodes available to stream last year but I didn’t watch a full one. Make Room for Daddy / The Danny Thomas Show – I’ve seen many episodes. I loved this show when I was a kid and it aired on Nick at Nite. Mama – I’ve never seen an episode. Mary Kay and Johnny – I’ve never seen an episode and I’ve looked for it. Apparently only one episode still survives but is not available on YouTube. Meet Corliss Archer – I’ve watched a few minutes of an episode. It was interesting but I wasn’t in the mood to watch a full episode at that time. Meet Millie – I’ve never seen this. Meet Mr. McNutley / The Ray Milland Show – I’ve never seen this. The Mickey Rooney Show/Hey, Mulligan! – I’ve seen a few episodes. It was funny. I believe 30 episodes are available on YouTube. Mister Peepers – I’ve seen a few episodes from the DVD boxset I bought years and years ago. I liked what I saw. My Favorite Husband – I’ve never seen this. My Friend Irma – I’ve never seen this. My Hero – I’ve never seen this. My Little Margie – I’ve seen a few episodes and even own the first season on DVD. I like what I saw. Our Miss Brooks – It’s been a long time but I’ve seen a couple of episodes and really liked it. Peck’s Bad Girl – I’ve never seen this. The People’s Choice – I’ve never seen this. The Phil Silvers Show / Sgt. Bilko – I’ve seen a handful of episodes and own the complete series on DVD. It’s pretty good. Not a favorite, though. The Pride of the Family – I’ve never seen this. Private Secretary – I’ve seen a couple of episodes. It’s pretty good. The Real McCoys – I’ve seen some episodes. I own all six seasons on DVD. I like it. The Ruggles – I’ve seen the Christmas episode. It was a good watch. Stanley – I’ve never seen this. The Stu Erwin Show / Trouble with Father – I’ve seen a few episodes and really liked it. The Thin Man – I’ve never seen this. Those Whiting Girls – I’ve only seen the opening credits. Time to Smile / The Alan Young Show – I’ve never seen this. Topper – I’ve seen a few episodes and liked it. Where’s Raymond? / The Ray Bolger Show – I’ve never seen this. A 1950s sitcom that doesn’t have a message board here is The Great Gildersleeve. I’ve seen a few episodes on YouTube and liked it. |

I saw I Married Joan once awhile back. It was awful, one of the worst shows from the black and white era I have ever seen. Bachelor Father is one of my favorites, it is well worth seeing more of. Season 1 was probably the weakest, then it got really good.

Bachelor Father - the later seasons (4 and 5) are better. The show should be on DVD.
Burns and Allen - badly chopped up on TV like all the old Screen Gems shows, and they still manage to be funny. Seasons 5 thru 8 are the best. Father Knows Best - so much better on DVD than (again) the chopped up episodes on TV. Danny Thomas Show - the complete series should have been issued on DVD. Danny buried the first three seasons, probably for eternity, likely due to his animosity toward Jean Hagen, who left after 3 seasons. Season 4 recently came out on DVD (and what i've seen is good), season 5 was a lousy DVD issue, with edited episodes. Season 6 was an excellent DVD issue. Now, all we need are seasons 7 thru 11. The show is or was widely available on streaming. Leave it to Beaver - an excellent full series set, dating back to 2010. |

I've seen a few episodes of Make Room for Daddy from the Jean Hagen years on DVD and YouTube. I used to own the fifth and sixth season DVD sets but didn't care for the quality. I noticed many seasons of the show are available to stream and that's great. I just want all of the seasons available. I think I'd prefer the early years. |

I am interested in seeing more of Bachelor Father, but I don't like watching shows that I can't view every episode of. In other words, I'd buy it if they released it on DVD or through streaming. I'm not too interested in seeing highly chopped episodes in syndication. But again, the show looks good. |
