They make horrible pets! My cousin's son got salmonella from his pet bearded dragon, which is worse than salmonella from food.

My cousin used to have reptiles and snakes because when he was in elementary school his teacher used to let my cousin take care of the teacher's reptiles and snakes because the teacher used to have them as class pets. But every time my cousin brought home a snake or reptile my aunt disliked having to clean up every time my cousin took care of the snakes and reptiles because for a time the reptiles would attract bugs and I mean big bugs and my cousin had to not let my grandmother and any relatives touch the reptiles because of germs whenever they would visit but when my cousin would give back the reptiles or snakes to his teacher my cousin always took good care of them but my aunt's house would be full of bugs afterwards. I have never seen or heard of bearded dragons before? Are they supposed to be unique reptiles? Because the only dragons i've seen are the Komodo dragons and do bearded dragons have a long tail like what Sisu in Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon has?

Yes, reptiles carry salmonella and you have to be careful when handling them or cleaning up after them.
Bearded dragons are small. No one could keep a Komodo dragon as a pet. Komodo dragons are monitor lizards and grow to over ten feet long. They carry so much bacteria inside them that their bites are generally fatal. |

I saw a documentary about a flight Samuel L. Jackson took and the reptiles looked pretty dangerous in it. There were this bunch of snakes on a plane. I forget the name of it.

Why would anyone want a pet reptile? They are not at all cuddly.

So many young kids and even older ones I guess, are desperate for some kind of pet and when a dog or cat is out of picture, then come the reptiles, my grandson went thru that phase for a short time, glad it came and went pretty fast.....

The same reason people name their kids Tuesday, Apple, Brooklyn, etc. They want to stand out from the crowd. Look at me, I have a snake as a pet. Aren't I cool? I had a friend who among other exotics, had a pet tarantula. He named it Fluffy.

Neither did Fluffy. ![]() When he put his hand the tank in to feed it the tarantula would flick hairs off its back aimed at him. That's their natural defense because the hairs are irritating. Oddly, it never tried to bite him. |
