I was really sad to hear this. She was a great star, from Annie Get Your Gun and my personal favorite The Greatest Show on Earth. She seemed like such a sweet person and she didn't have an easy life.
RIP, Betty.

R.I.P. I was shocked to hear this, I thought she'd never die. But she's been in retirement for more than 3 decades. I hope that her last days were peaceful.

I was sad to hear this news. I've only seen her in "Annie Get Your Gun", but her performance in that great movie is unforgetable!
Rest in peace Miss Hutton. |

I remember watching several interviews with her. She'd had so many rough times, but unlike Liz Taylor's "Oh, poor me!", Betty Hutton always put a positive face on it. That was so admirable. |

You know only 5 people attended her funeral????? What a shame. She ended up working at a parish as a live-in housekeeper/cook for several priests. There was an old interview shown yesterday where she stated she was a very "high-maintenance" lady, had her priorities in the wrong order and when she began working with these priests she saw life in a different way and really found peace and happiness. She stated her personal life was nothing to talk abt, but her "famous" life was something.
