TV Facts
CATM finished as the #3 show after its first airing on Sept 13, 1974 behind Rhoda and All in the Family.
After the 2nd and 3rd episode CATM ranked higher than All in the Family at #1 and #2 In season 2, even though the show stayed in same time slot, it ranked #8 after first episode. The new competition was MASH on CBS The show began to fall even further in the ratings after the second episode at #27 In season 3, the show ranked #31 after the first episode of the season and would continue to be rank in the top 30 to 40 remainder of the season. In season 4, the first episode of the season without Freddie Prinze ranked #34.
