Any interest in Pete and Gladys? The 1960-62 Harry Morgan-Cara Williams comedy?

There are several new topics added to Sitcoms Online now. I like it. I remember these shows Mr. Terrific and Pete & Gladys from when I was a little kid. I wish Mr. Terrific was available commercially in a DVD set likewise Pete & Gladys and Dickens & Fenster. As I used to watch all of them as a 5 year old and a little older. Even now if you see any of the b/w To Tell The Truth shows on Buzzr you will often hear at the end as credits roll Harry Morgan and Cara Williams promoting Pete & Gladys. I had not seen any of these series since the '60's until recently (past 10 years) when I had seen some DVDs of them. Some weren't as funny as I remember them being when I was little. Mr. Terrific was still a funny show though. I remember Captain Nice was on during the same time as Mr. Terrific. Kids at the time either watched one show or the other. Mr. Terrific was my choice. Though I had seen Capt. Nice too. I'd like to see all of them again in great condition as produced commercially. The home made DVDs are nice, but nowhere near perfect, but still better than nothing.

As far as I know, only half of the Dickens & Fenster series (episodes 1-16) has been released on DVD. The other half (episodes 17-32) has yet to be released.

The Amazon description says season 1, but it really was volume 1, and volume 2 was never issued.
The new sets are really $$, but the used sets are reasonable. |

I think it's been out of print for awhile, so not surprising if new sets are now pricey.
I considered buying volume 1 after it was released, but decided not to because I was skeptical that the 2nd volume wouldn't be released. I didn't want to end up being stuck with volume 1 and left hanging for volume 2. It's only a single season sitcom, they should have just released the full series in one volume. |
