In a really dark twist no one saw coming, George's family and Hazel finally had enough of how Mr. Griffin treated them. They learned from Hitchcock movies how to cover their tracks. Hence the TV movie Killing Mr. Griffin that premiered on NBC decades later, on April 7, 1997. Who knows what that movie really was about, but seeing the listing made me think of this show.
