Default What did Naomi see in Vinton?

Vint’s looks don’t really have me wondering this, as much as the fact that he was an idiot who still lived with his mother (with seemingly no plans of moving out.) And how he completed school is beyond me.

I’m aware that this is a TV show, but Naomi acted as if her husband made her believe that no other man would want her.

As we all know, Naomi got around. I think she was probably tired of being treated like a piece of meat, and found something more in Vint.

One answer to your question could be found in the episode when Leonard Oates comes to town trying to get Naomi to run away with him, and at the end of it all Naomi testifies how Vint believed in her and trusted her, which she said no other man did before. And that's worth more than two and a half million dollars.

Well maybe she learned to love Vint because she sure acted like she hated him in the earlier episodes when the trailer park didn’t work out

You can't help who you fall in love with.... not everyone is attracted to the same thing. I mean Iola was Vint's age and lived with her parents and there were men interested in her, and she was NOT that attractive by conventional standards, and the Hawaiin guy was good looking.

Plus in REAL LIFE there are women with men who beat them up and treat them like crap, so I dunno why it's that out of the question that Naomi could like Vint

Sorry, I just usually don't like questions like, "What does so-in-so see in so-in-so"... Just seems kinda mean to think someone doesn't deserve love just because they don't measure up to certain standards

They say opposites attract. Naomi's character was to be the foil for Mama. Vint needed to be a weaker person for this to happen. In the syndication years they made him an idiot but even in the first 2 years he was not that smart. I think because of how Naomi was cast to be, they needed someone who was still connected to Mama for Naomi's character to shine.

I agree with the Naomi felt trusted by Vint. That probably meant a lot to her.

And do you know couples in real life who are awkward pairs?

I do and it's natural curiosity to wonder- what does a knock-out woman see in a nerdy guy? Or a very handsome man in love with a very homely woman?

It's called love.

Also what's attractive to one may not be attractive to others... I've always been attracted to tomboyish, "nerdyish" type women with muscle....go figure While everyone was going on about how HOT Betty Rubble was, I was wanted to BE Betty and date Wilma ... Same for Laverne and Shirly, and everyone had the hots for Shirly and Laverne was MY interest
