TV In-between their hits, does anyone remember

The 3 flop,all-but forgotten series that Betty White ,the late Bea Arthur, and the late Rue McClanahan did? Betty White's was called "The Betty White Show",Bea Arthur's was called "Amanda's",and Rue McClanahan's was called "Apple Pie".None of them lasted very long. And all of them were late 1970's-early 1980's shows.Does anyone remember these shows?

I received eps of the Betty White Show years ago to see how bad it was and eps of the show Amanda's. I just gave away my one and only episode of Amanda's because that's how bad the show was IMO. I don't think anyone will ever see Apple Pie since it was only on the air for one week back in 1978.

I watched The Betty White Show. It wasn't great but it was watchable. Amanda's was awful. I only watched the first episode. I never saw Apple Pie.

You never saw Apple Pie because ABC cancelled the show after one airing in 1978-LOL

Sucks that a show with only one episode aired on TV is available on youtube but a show like checking in that was on the air for 4 weeks and the summer season is nowhere to be found-lol

That's why it's no need to trade TV shows anymore because with the invention of youtube not many shows are rare anymore.

It's hard to believe that Checking In is so hard to find. It has to pop up one of these days.

Apple Pie aired two episodes, September 23 & 30, 1978. The second one had a guest appearance by Ken Berry.

I saw it.

I watched The Betty White Show, though not every week as I know I missed the last one that addressed the show's cancellation by having Betty's character Joyce also face cancellation of her Undercover Woman series.

I actually liked Amanda's a lot, at least prior to the retooling. Early episodes were just fun slapstick. I hardly cared if it wasn't as good as Fawlty Towers having never seen that. When they brought Kevin McCarthey on as a love interest for Amanda, the show took on a somber tone that I found less appealing. Amanda hardly ever smacked Aldo anymore after that, boo!

When the show's cancellation was announced in May of '83 (along with ABC's other cancellations) one of the magazine shows, Entertainment Tonight I think, flashed a rare title card reading Amanda's By The Sea, the original name of the series which was shortened just prior to its premier.
