Default Laura and Steve's Relationship Platonic or Romantic?

I just wanted to get people's opinions on the Steve and Laura relationship. Did you like it when they were just friends or did you like it when they got together romantically. Personally I liked it better when they were just friends. To me when they got together the relationship just seemed forced. What do you all think?

well, it was forced, by CBS. Here they demand to air the show only if Steve and Laura's relationship becomes romantic, and then they ax the show before any of us get to see a wedding. I personally liked it before they were romantically involved, even though it was fun to see them as a couple, after 9 years of waiting.

At first Platonic. They were good friends, kinda......But as the years went by, you can really see that she really did fall in love with him, and it made me want them together so bad.

Ugh no! Steve and Laura should have stayed platonic! Steve should have stayed with Myra!

Agreed. They really started to make Urkel look like a jerk the way he would constantly fawn over Laura despite being in a relationship with Myra. As others have said, "Paradise Bluff" should have been the end of Urkel's crush on Laura and they should have developed new storylines for other characters to fill the void.

As Steve always told Laura "I'm wearing you down baby! I'm wearing you down!"

Both platonic and romantic. All relationships don't have to be "love at first sight". I think the 'build up' with Laura and Urkel was more interesting than having crazy Myra jumping Urkel's bone every time she sees him...

Except I can't buy that their relationship was genuine at all.
Laura was extremely shallow and never came across as the best choice for Steve to me.
