Ted Healy's life was cut tragically short after getting beat up in a bar, celebrating the birth of his son in December of 1937. My question is, if Ted didn't go to the bar that night or didn't get into a fight, and he had lived, how big do you think he would have become in Hollywood? By that point, the Stooges had already left him, so it's not as if he would have continued working with the boys. However, he was still working without them. Do you think he would have been so big a name that essentially creating The Three Stooges would have just been a footnote in the history of his life, and not his main credit?

Healy had a reputation as a boozer and brawler, it usually doesn't end well for guys like that. Healy was already 41 so a barroom brawl that doesn't end well, or a premature death related to a lifetime of alcohol abuse seemed inevitable.
