Would she really even think about going out with him considering he was so bald? I always got the feeling the answer is No!

I think Mary looked at the man’s heart more than his looks.
I think to me who would want to date Mary? Mary was a beautiful woman but to me her personality was somewhat grating. She is someone who thinks that she knows better than anyone else. Sort of a superior attitude although she hides it well. Self righteous. She was also very independent in her own life which doesn’t lend well to marriage. I could be married to Mary because as a husband, I would give her the complete freedom (besides cheating on me) to do whatever she pleased. Have her own life, as long as we can have a life together. A wife with a job and a career? Yes! That’s the problem with my relationship, I have a wife who is very capable of having a career but she doesn’t, and I have had to support her which I mostly resent. I would rather be married to Rhoda. Rhoda is much more fun, as attractive as Mary, does her own thing and likes to “let her hair down” and party. 1970’s chick. Rhoda also worked jobs even though in her own show she was married to a businessman (until the drunk writers broke up the couple). Mary was better off single. Couldn’t imagine the character tied down to a man with children. She liked friends and boyfriends she can “hook up with”. She’s not Laura Petrie staying at home cooking her husband dinner with a kid. |
