Because I've never hated them, I voted that I do like them, but I do love music with lyrics more.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, what is good about them is that they give the instrument players the opportunity to show their talents.

Of Course I enjoyed them. Instrumental music is more easy to hear with.

I do and if we're talking about TV theme songs then I generally prefer Instrumental themes over themes with vocals.

I enjoy both.
Mostly, the instrumental music I like to listen to is electronic. There was an electronic instrumental cd that was so mesmerizing to me that I wrote the idea for a movie around it, so it definitely can send my mind soaring.
I have heard that said about classical music, but I never really got into classical music, though I do love Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

Oh yes, Hocus , Pocus is a really cool instrumental! Two others that come to mind are the surfer song " Wipe out " and a late 50's, early 60's ? tune " Sleep walk " by Johnny & Santo !

My favorite instrumental hits from the 1970's:

Joy- Apollo 100
Outa Space- Billy Preston
Popcorn- Hot Butter
Frankenstein- Edgar Winter Group
Love's Theme- Love Unlimited Orchestra
The Sound Of Philadelphia- MFSB
The Entertainer- Marvin Hamlisch
Pick Up The Pieces- Average White Band
The Hustle- Van McCoy
Fly Robin Fly- Silver Convention
A Fifth Of Beethoven- Walter Murphy
Theme From SWAT- Rhythm Heritage
Feels So Good- Chuck Mangione

I also have a few CD's with instrumental hits from the 1950's and 60's but I haven't listened to those in a while. A big favorite of mine is Theme For Young Lovers by the Percy Faith Orchestra, it was a Billboard hit in 1960, it's a beautiful tune.

One I do like is the theme to the Halloween movies. It’s always fun to imagine I’m about to be brutally murdered.

Once, I was in Target's Parking Lot on Halloween and there was a man slowly circling the lot as he blasted the Halloween Theme. I got the heck out of there.

That’s a perfect example of one that would have me yelling “Sing already!”. And then what do I get? Yodels.

And not the good kind

That’s cute if it’s a well lit crowded parking lot.

Less cute if it’s dark and deserted
