This is related to my other post, but I was wondering what everyone thought the best sitcom slap scene was. From any show, not just Norman Lear shows. If you have a link where the slap can be seen, please post that too.
I think the best slap scene came from "One Day at a Time", the scene where Ann slaps Julie. Julie is seeing a much older man, which Ann is opposed to. Ann catches them kissing one late night, and an argument ensues. Julie then asks Ann in a very disrespectful tone, "You getting lonely Mom? Do you want him?". Ann slaps the fire out of her! I can't think of one any better than that. Sorry, but I do not have a link to where you can see the scene. I don't know if it is posted anywhere online. |

Ann Romano was an old school mom. She slapped her so hard that they had to put up the "To Be Continued Next Week" graphic.
Gimme a Break! had many slapping scenes. The Chief was not somebody that you wanted to mess with. Times were different back in the 1980s. This is a great performance Laurie Metcalf on The Conners. I don't know if it was the best, but How I Met Your Mother had a funny long-running gag. |

The Facts of Life had several slap/punch scenes over the years.
Prototype Monica Warner slaps Blair at 22:50 in this video. Sue Ann attempts to strike Cindy, but strikes Blair instead at about 14:00 in this video. Jo punches Blair at about 0:20 in this video. |

In That Girl episode "Sock It to Me," Ann spends the entire episode trying to overcome her natural reluctance to slap someone on-stage. At 24:00 here, comes the moment of truth when she must slap her co-star:
