JJ roasting Alderman Davis

In the episode "Evans Versus Davis" in season 4, there was a surprising twist at end which made this episode one of the funniest one. In this episode Alderman Davis makes a visit to the Evans' household wanting J.J. to speak at his re-election campaign. However, when J.J. refuses, an eviction notice is immediately handed to Florida.

So Evans stuck between rock and hard place, JJ agrees to speak in his re-election campaign in support of Davis. But half way thru his speech, JJ tore up the speech that was given to him and said he is tired of saying all this garbage in favor of Davis. And start railing about how Davis is a crooked politician.

But audience thought JJ is roasting Davis in fashion of Dean Martin roasting show and start cheering Davis. Davis realizing that, tell Florida they are still his favorite family and can stay at project. A very funny episode and nice ending.

Well, via James's death and the Finale's Fairy Tale Ending, one way or another all the Evanses DID leave the projects!

That is true, but Evans stood their ground against crooked politician and got away with it since Alderman Davis was trying to blackmail them.

He thought he was doing them a favor by saying they will always have a place to live as long as he is alderman and then florida realized that doesnt sound all that great because she at some point wants to leave the projects

Yes they wasnt evicted but realized the big pic which was I will be in the ghetto

Like I said they blew his gloomy prophecy outta the water! And it would have been nice if during the Fairy Tale Finale, had Florida and or one of the kids said something like' If only James could have seen this happen'

Yes I agree since they made reference to him after he died
