Question for anyone who cares to answer. But if you found yourself in his predicament (as of the 3/3/22 episode), what would be your gameplan?
Personally, I think the comedic value of his frustrated ambitions for romance, have just about run the full course. And, I think he made a mistake telling Gina that he was headed to Alaska, that looks too much like a desperate call for rescue. I do, however, think the trip to Alaska is the right idea. If I were him, I think I would have been less definite about the destination, been all happy and smiley right up to the time of departure, and then just slipped away. Perhaps making some cryptic comment as I'm driving away that only months later would Gina decode and realize it meant "have a nice life". I really don't see much of a future for Drew in this show, wouldn't surprise me if they wrote him out completely.

Hard to think of the show without him.

Write Drew out of the show? Huh! I'm not too sure they don't write "B Positive" out of the show! Anyone really think it's coming back? CBS' stance is that it hasn't been decided yet - could go either way? Well, the finale is this week. Then CBS has the NCAA tournament on Thursday for two weeks and then "How We Roll" starts up in place of B Positive after that, you know, that bowling show. Annaleigh has a few projects ongoing at the moment, not that this has to necessarily mean anything one way or the other but is there a chance she already knows it isn't coming back or am I reading too much into it? She tends to stay busy and can film a lot of these projects during the seasonal downtime so no reason to jump to conclusions yet.
But while Young Sheldon and Ghosts have been renewed, BP hasn't nor has USoA either for Thursday nights in the fall. I am not shocked if it gets shelved and no, in response to the comment posted on here, I'm not sure Drew has a big part in this show going forward. Every time I see him, I think of how Suzanne Somers ended on Three's Company when they had her stuck in a room doing phone calls to fulfill her show obligation when things fell apart between her and the ABC brass when she got too demanding. I know it's not like that here, but it sure reminds me of that situation like they really can't find a role now for Drew now that he has his kidney and Gina really don't have any real love for him. So the writers gave him an RV and sent him out away from Valley Hills and let him roam the countryside for a lack of anything else to do with the character. Kind of funny and sad at the same time, right? I guess time will tell what Chuck Lorre' wants to do with this show (and Drew). I'm not shocked though if it ends after Thursday. |

This season, since Gina bought Valley Hills, it has become more of an ensemble show with veteran actors David Anthony Higgins, Hector Elizondo, Linda Lavin and Jane Seymour. In response to the post about writing Drew out, I think if it does come to fruition, it could mean B Positive is finished.

Drew just seems like the kind of character where some survey found that 80% of viewers have an unfavorable reaction to his personality, or something of that nature. I don't think that "lovable loser" and "intelligent" are a mixture most audiences feel there is a need for more of.
But. at the same time, adding more characters and new roles right up at the end fora series ready to get the axe seems kinda odd too? With Gina now having a business partner, that conceivably could give them more flexibility with her character as well? They could completely retheme the show once again, like they did between seasons last year..... Have Gina decide at the last minute she wants to go to Alaska with Drew, become an absentee owner of the asylum, and she and drew hit the road in what becomes kind of a combination of Route 66 and Rocky & Bullwinkle?.... Then, for the season 3 finale....while driving through the Yukon, Gina disappears and everyone believes Drew has pulled a "Brian Laundrie" ...who then for season 4 becomes Richard Kimble, suspecting that in reality Gina has run off with a mysterious one-armed self styled messiah of the Klondike? The show could continue indefinitely, reinventing itself for each new season under the hope that it's harder to kill a moving target? |

Ahhhhh, I can see that my "Rocky and Bullwinkle" analogy has some of you thinking?
![]() But, absent intimacy between Gina and Drew, I think that's exactly what this show has become. If I was an heir to Jay Ward's estate, I'd be after Mr Lorre for a piece of the action |

For that matter, in the episode just before this most recent, when Gina excused her disinterest as being a result of her "not being ready yet". What exactly is that supposed to mean? Not ready for a relationship with a man?
She seemed pretty "ready" last season with one of Drew's dialysis buds, and this season as well with that relative of one of the residents.....so, is her claim to being "not ready" more a ruse? Just a convenient way of saying "please keep your distance so that I won't wretch? Seems that way to me. |

Could be she's not ready for a romantic relationship with Drew, that she views him as a buddy/friend. But that could spell the end for Drew, unless she hires him to work at the retirement home. |

Well, I'd have to say that if some gal that I had a sincere interest in, excused her unwillingness to share my feelings with the explanation that she "wasn't ready yet", but then dated other guys.....it would be VERY difficult to accept as being ANYTHING other than an insult.
I mean a more direct "you're not my type" or the perennial favorite "it's not you, it's me" would at least be more honest. How about this for a plot twist: Gina decides to accompany Drew to Alaska, but ONLY on the condition they have a chaperone. A duty that Harry gleefully accepts since it affords him the opportunity to torment Drew with his emasculating quips and asides? Lots of comedic opportunity there, with an additional Easter egg for the #metoo movement of getting to see a man's ambitions crushed, WEEKLY, just because we can? LMAO! |

I quit watching this after the lottery story but I would have lots of sex with Gina, in any position she would allow, as much as she would allow.

Well, after tonight's development, Drew has absolutely NO reason that he knows of to return, so let's hope that the person of nondescript physical characteristics and gender neutral vocal intonations sat on his cell phone, rendering it inoperative. and that he finds a First Nations girl of his dreams and has a dozen kids, living happily ever after?
