Tales of Last Date fails, So-called Damsels in Distress

Since men always seem to catch the blame for being the destructive influence in relationships gone sour. I thought a little "equal time for opposed points of view" might be in order?

A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on animal cruelty charges after throwing a 3-year-old pug named Bucky off of a seventh-floor balcony Clearwater condominium during an argument with her ex-boyfriend, authorities said.

The complaint said the couple had ended their relationship in February, but she had arrived at Adeson's condo Sunday smelling of alcohol and being verbally aggressive toward him.

He asked her to leave, but she refused and instead picked up the dog and threw it over the balcony.

That poor Dog didn't deserve to die so suddenly and senselessly.

When I clicked on this thread, I was expecting to LAUGH, thinking this was going to be a light hearted soon on my my Worst First Date/Worst Date Thread. Instead I am pissed at this Woman's actions. That poor innocent dog was murdered all because she had trouble letting go of a past relationship.

The term "damsel in distress" in the thread title was sarcasm. Our current mindset with all the #meetoo sensitivity, is so obsessed with always portraying the woman as a "victim". that we tend to overlook reality that women can indeed be provocateur.

As this episode clearly proves, When relationships go sour, it isn't always a given that the man is the bad actor.

I have friends who are in relationships with unstable women who from time to time throw fits, actually wailing on my friends faces with their fists.

The men don't dare hit them back, because if you do, and the police eventually get involved, thats an automatic "go to jail" for the man.

Sometimes I'd go over to visit and the guy is sitting there with a black eye,...and I'm like "you are a complete FOOL for putting up with this.

Early 1990s I met this gal out in Castro Valley California, and she ends up spending 3 days at my place. During which time she decides she's going to break up with her boyfriend, and expects me to drive her over to his house, so she can get her things.

These complicating details only became known to me as the events unfolded. I'm like "Oh, you live with a guy? And now I'm gonna help you go over and move out on him? Gee, what could go wrong?"

So, at like 6:30 on a monday morning, we drive over there...and the drive way is empty. She goes up to knock on the door....no answer.

There was a large "doggie door" type contraption on the back door into the kitchen, and she's like "okay, you gotta help me go in and get my things"

And I'm like "Noooo, I don't think so. You go in and get the stuff, I'll wait out here, you can pass it thru the door to me, and I'll load it in the car. I wanted no part of a possible illegal entry rap.

So, she crawls in through the doggie door,.. and BAMM!! he's hiding inside, and runs up and kicks her in the face while she's crawling in through the chute. They are there screaming in each other's face, And the police show up. He had called the police soon after our arrival while she was still knocking on his doors

So, I'm just leaning against the front fender of my car, in the drive way. My arms folded watching them scream at each other...the cops roll up and stare daggers at me. I just shrugg and motion to the couple with a roll of my eyes.

And the cops start trying to unravel the dispute.

During the interview the gal is angry complaining how he had kicked her in the face, and one side of her face was pretty red. So the cop asks the guy " did you kick her in the face?' He admitted that he did. Then the cop asks "and she lives here with you?" again the guy says "yup"

So, the cops slap hand cuffs on him, take him to jail, and leave her and I there with his unlocked house.

Why? because if the guy hits the gal, he's automatically blamed to be at fault. It's not fair, but just the way it is.

A few days later, some guys that I knew who always portray themselves as "heavies", who also knew him, heard the story...and came to pay me a visit, explaining that "we don't call the police on each other,...ever"

Those idiots thought that since this other guy was the one who ended up in jail, that I must have been the one to call the police.

I responded, "oh really? Well that's funny considering he's the one who called the cops"

And we all had a good laugh that this guy called the cops on himself, and went to jail for it.


And yeah, "that" was technically my "first date" with that gal, so maybe this belongs in the other thread?

It's scary to me to review the following crime, and compare it to my experience above.

The similarities are scary. Although I saw my role as a "white night" helping the gal recover her belongings....I in fact was in a role very similar to the role Kruse played in this story...and now he is charged with felony murder.. even though he (like I) never entered the house.

Granted, I did not take the gal over to the house specifically to rob anyone.....but just as the way this news story played out....IF my gal had tried to rob her ex boyfriend in his house while I waited outside....and if he resultingly shot and killed her while defending his house....I'd be liable for a felony murder charge too, just the way this guy in the story is.

Guess I was lucky.
