As you know Dave is suffering from Lewybody Dementia. He can no longer stand or walk and cannot feed himself due to severe hand tremors. I really can't tell if he recognizes us anymore because he is very uncommunicative and usually just sits there with eyes closed. He is very thin which is usual for dementia. When he does speak we really can't understand what he's saying. But he has no other health issues. He is well cared for in a caring loving environment. We don't know how long he will last. It's so hard to see this once vital strong man wither away. But I am thankful that he seems content and in no pain. He has had a couple of falls this past year but nothing serious.

Penny, I have no family members that I know of who had "it". A couple friends take brain supports as they fear the memory loss. They are both in their 70's and one took Grape Seed Ex for years in the beginning but when she was hit with heart issue (afib) which I believe is a lack of magnesium, she stopped the Grape Seed Ex as it cleans and thins the blood and now she's on a pharma blood thinner for afib...a vicious cycle. One has to learn and research for their own good.
A neighbor is dealing with her husband who is in cognitive decline now...very very sad to witness this. I told her about grape seed ex years ago but many do not HEAR for their own good. |

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's declining condition. Dementia/Alzheimer's is very difficult for the families. It's good that he is being well taken care of. I hope they are one day able to cure it or slow it down further.
My father had Alzheimer's for the last 7-8 years of his life, which I think is the average lifespan. He was still able to stand up until his last few weeks when he got a wheelchair. He never lost the ability to speak, but his memory was completely gone in his last few years. |

So sorry to hear about your husband, Penny. As far as I know, no one in my family has dealt with lewy body dementia, but I know what it’s like to lose a loved one, I’ve lost many. I seen, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, even a brother and sister die. I loss my stepfather about six years ago to kidney failure, my real father wasn’t in my life as much, so my stepdad played a major role in my life, and it had hurt so much to see him decline.

So very sorry to hear of your husbands declining condition. My mother-in-law had Alzheimer's and she got to the point where she didn't know hardly any of us. My husband and his late sister were the only ones she could half way recognize. It's so sad when they get to that point. She got to where she wouldn't eat, my husband could coax her to eat a little tiny bit. I know you must be going through a similar situation with your husband. It's just so sad.
