Default Who do you like seeing Mama paired with the most? Eunice, Fran or Iola?

Through out Mama's life on TV she always one person to play off of... On the Carol Burnett Family sketches it's Eunice, in NBC Mama's Family it's Fran, in syndicated Mama's Family it's Iola, who do you enjoy seeing her partnered with best?

The Mama-Iola combo was the funniest to me. The Carol Burnett Show preceded me, and while the Mama-Fran interplay was different because they were sisters, I think Mama and Iola were best together. And I say that as someone who really enjoyed the Fran character and missed her during the syndicated years.

Iola, but I liked Fran (best character Rue McClanahan ever played imo), too. I cannot stand Eunice.

Eunice and Mama were great. There were always interesting fireworks when they got together.
But I like Iola and Mama best. They worked very well together, even when they had their own fights.

Definitely Mama and Eunice. Mama and Iola were okay, but nothing tops Mama and Eunice.

I liked the Mama/Eunice episode "Cellmates" when they end up in jail after Eunice had a fit about Duke Reeves when they were all at The Bigger Jigger.

Yeah that was a good episode and the ending was nice when they were on the porch and Eunice was talking about her and Ed’s sex life and how he doesn’t have any “imagination” anymore. Poor Ed. If I was married to Eunice, I wouldn’t have much imagination myself.

And remember, that hooker who was in the cell recognized Ed.

I liked how it gave some closure to Eunice and Mama.... They never had any more MAJOR fights after that episode....

I always wanted to think at some point in the syndicated episodes Eunice made a visit and made amends with Bubba and maybe with Mama too, mainly because there was a point in the LATER syndicated episodes in which Mama stops talking poorly about Eunice. In the old days Mama always makes a slur when she mentions Eunice, but there were times in the later episodes Mama mentions Eunice in just NORMAL ways.

Mama sure didn't like it when Eunice and Ed didn't attend their son's graduation.

Which was stupid because they made Eunice and Ed out to be these unfit crappy parents with no concern whatsoever about their own son. I don’t care, recast or not, Eunice in particular should have showed up. At least the Eunice in The Family sketches tried her best with Bubba and his brother, in Mama’s Family, it’s as if she forgot him or something.

Iola!! I love Iola ! I think the show really started cooking when Iola was added to the cast! And Bubba too! I wasn't a big fan of the original Mama's family !

I thought about, I think maybe they could have shown the back of Eunice's head in the audience at the graduation. I know most people wouldn't accept anyone other than Carol playing Eunice, but they could have gotten someone to put on the wig and dress and just shown the back of her in the audience briefly.

It seems like everyone underwent a personality change from the Family sketches to Mama's Family... Mama becomes nicer and Eunice became more the villain... it was the opposite in the Family Sketches

They could have brought back the girl who played Eunice in the Mother/daughter banquet episode. She did a pretty good job of playing Eunice I thought(though nobody could do it as well as Carol of course).
