Default Is the Patty Duke Show worth getting?

I have never seen it.

I really like the Gidget show I just got.

"The Patty Duke Show" is a fun show, especially the first two seasons. It's on Tubi, if you want to check it out before you buy it.

That’s right all seasons on Tubi. I’m enjoying Dennis the Menace and Real McCoys on Tubi. Patty Duke
has some funny plots and she’s a good actress. When I read about her life making The Patty Duke Show it’s very unsettling.

If you like Gidget you’ll like Patty. I always thought Sally Field overacted in her show but boy could she act in Sybil.

It must have been a difficult show to film, with her doubles and extra shots so the editors could matte them into the same shot. And the changes in costume, hairdo, etc.--or they filmed scenes out of order. At least she was able to stay in New York for the first two seasons and part of the third.

I agree, it's a fun show with an excellent cast (and only Paul O'Keefe [I think that's his name] is still living). I saw him later on a My Three Sons from around season 9.

Rita McLaughlin was Patty Duke's double. When Nick at Nite reran the show, they aired a special called, "The Back of Patty Duke's Head."

I like the Patty Duke Show ... likable zany teen with many plots all over the place - good cast - not many dud episodes, plus MANY guest stars

I am having issues getting into the Patty Duke show.

I keep going back to Highway Patrol. Its new to me. That thing is so poorly acted it's like watching a train wreck. I have to keep watching it. Put up a roadblock. That will stop em.

2150 to headquarters.

Mathews' office never looks the same. You'd think they would put up a set and leave it for reuse.

I have not noticed his office. He is not in it very much. I take it you have watched it?
Cue that crazy music.

Yeah, I've seen it off and on over the years. That opening where the HP officers are standing in front of their roadblock. They'd probably get run down.

The uncut episodes have Broderick at the end, advising us to follow some law, and tune in next week. As the producers try to figure out how to show him driving and avoid dealing with his DUIs.

He talks way too fast and he is so stiff in his movements. I did not know he was a drunk until I read about him. That is too bad. I can't tell it though in his actions because the whole shebang is so odd, to begin with.

I bet I end up watching the whole thing.

lol I've seen every Highway Patrol episode many times and still dvr it daily

I really dislike Broderick Crawford's acting and cocky attitude for more reasons that increase daily !
He barley can walk normal being stiff, is always rushing around, and is an arrogant know it all -

They kill many people in shootouts and hardly bat an eye, he says things like "he had it coming"

I find the worst episodes involve the aerochopper / helichopper (?) ones - so lame, Crawford can barely fit in it LOL

His use of the office wall map could be on Sat Nite Live - so stupid especially if you look at the map

The office desk with the police radio is so pathetic - looks like it was made in a high school wood working class ... some of the dispatchers are cute though

I do enjoy the old cars and the episodes with the women jail escapees - one which includes Emmaline Henry (Jeannie / Dr Bellows wife) as a jailbird ! I also like the Andy Griffith Show with the girl escapees ! (Barney at his best !)

There's an episode of 2 guys growing marijuana and they have to quick harvest BUT the weed plants are like 12" tall looking like tomatoes (DUH) -

Many episodes like the heroin dealers or the secret gambling in the rear of the restaurant are hardly accurate +-

Some of the con man / Bunko themes are interesting

Art Gilmore is the narrator who later is onscreen in Dragnet of the 60's
