How often someone else posts here isn't any of your business. No one's methodology needs work except yours. Some people post a lot and deserve to for free. Active members here are important to keep the site running, this horrible change you keep pushing would vastly reduce the amount of active members and cause Sitcoms Online to suffer.

I see what you're going for (well, except for that jar thing ), but you just can't charge to post. Too many free places out there people can go to. It'd be harder to get new people, and some regulars might be forced to drop out.

I’m not backing anyone up and I never did say what my position on a paying site was. I was merely wondering how/if a tier system would work for here and to have people discuss it.

In all the years I have been here TJ has never said we should become a pay site if you post in excess of a certain amount. This was all GentlemanJim's idea from yesterday.

First of all, props for having a Snidely whiplash avatar. I haven't thought about those cartoons in ages.

I think having a premium/for pay section might be a good idea. It would be additional revenue for TJ. What additional groups/subjects would you suggest for the premium section?

Regarding the post count issue; I've never understood the allure of it myself. Regarding storage space, maybe TJ could consider deleting the posts of people that he's banned over the years. They aren't coming back under the original names, so why should their verbiage be preserved?

The possibilities are endless, really. I've seen forum sites that allow everyone to post, but you have to be a paying premium member to create polls, just as one example. Or they might bundle a freemail account, so that you could be shotzette@SitcomsOnline.com for example. And other perks like larger limits on image sizes, some forums have limited the ability to use html in your posts to paying members as well.

But mostly, and I'm being 100% honest here, the motivation that started me on this was noticing there are several members who seem to exist JUST to insult the people who think differently from the way they think. And it just got me to thinking that the main thing enabling them being the ability to fling insults is free.

If you could impose some cost on that, make it so they have to think to themselves "is this really worth a quarter just to insult them again for the 99th time this month?"...make them think before spewing more vitriol....then this would be a better place, and I would enjoy myself more here.

That's really it "What could TJ do to improve this site to my liking"? being the thread title... I thought about it, and gave it my best shot. All the dramaqueening from some members about me trying to seize control of something I have no business getting involved in, is just paranoid excelsior to my way of thinking.
