Default Why didn't LE just put hidden cameras outside of Cindy James and the Wackers homes??

It seems like it would be cheaper to put hidden cameras outside of Cindy James and the Wackers homes then to use the man power investigating it with no leads or suspects.

Probably a lack of technology at the time. Cameras were expensive and needed tape (or film), etc. There were no HD 4K iPhones back then.

You're looking at this through 2021 eyes. In regards to Cindy James, the alleged harassment took place between 1982 and 1989. Any type of camera security system would have cost an insane amount of money that your typical middle class person wouldn't be able to afford.

It's roughly the same time period as the Wackers (1984-1993) and I'd be surprised if they had much more money than Cindy.

Exactly. Heck, I don’t think Ozzie was even paid his fee to watch/protect Cindy James. If I recall from the books, they were going to work something out.

That's right. At one point, around 1988 I believe, Ozzie spent money out of his own pocket to buy one camera and have it installed on Cindy's garage. She couldn't afford it and Ozzie later said he couldn't just tell her, "Sorry you can't afford a camera. Go off and die now."

I didn't realize the guy was working for IOUs. He already knew at that point that she was a client with a very high risk for suicide. It sounds like he was essentially doing that job solely out of concern for her.

She didn’t commit suicide. She was murdered, and the killer has still gotten away with it all these years later. He has yet to be aphrended.

I didn't say she did. I said she was at very high risk for suicide. Whether she died at her own hand or by someone else's - this is still a true statement.

If you're correct about her being murdered (and she may have been), that means the endless torment she was experiencing was real, and that alone would cause almost anyone to have severe mental health issues and suicidal thoughts.

As already mentioned, it was the 1980s. People voluntarily have doorbell cameras (which are a bad idea altogether that I could discuss at a different time) but no one did this 40 years ago.

Also, I believe Cindy was doing this sort of thing to herself. Not the Wackers though, it sounded legit with them.
