I honestly had no idea how it worked either at the time. It was some little box that hooked up via a serial port to the computer, and it had a cable that plugged into the TV's RCA ports. At the time it actually was pretty advanced.

Not much of a need for it anymore with everything being digital anyway. Chances are what you have on your computer will probably be higher quality than what your TV is capable of rendering, depending on the video. Back then we were working with analog still. HDTV wouldn't exist on a large scale for several more years.
