Connie Harper Nelson, 90, has passed away. She had been struggling with complications from COPD for quite a few years. Connie was married to Don Nelson, Ozzie Nelson's brother. She told me that Rick Nelson was her best friend, and his plane crash on her birthday (12-31-85) was devastating. Connie played many roles on "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet", most notably as Miss Edwards. She also worked for the Nelson family behind the scenes. Her grandfather was film director, Cecil B. DeMille. She and her sister lived with him in his later years and helped care for him. Connie became a successful real estate agent. Our condolences to her family. |

As a big O & H fan, sorry to hear this. She was great on the show as crackerjack secretary Miss Edwards. And was a solid rock within the Nelson clan. She’ll be really missed.

Here's Connie from O & H:
This next one is an interesting later photo. Connie is surrounded by David & June and Rick & Kris: Finally, a photo from the set of Ozzie's Girls, with Rick's children Tracy, Matthew and Gunnar: I'm glad Connie lived a long life. May she rest in peace. |

Looks as though Connie Nelson's passing leaves June Blair Nelson as the last surviving regular cast member- and she's NOT been talking about anything Nelson related for public record since at least 1975!

Whatever the reason/s were, June Blair and the late David Nelson kept a VERY tight lid on it and seemed to have kept their own councils about it. It seems that neither of their sons nor any of the other members of the extended Nelson family have shed any light on it.
It seems that their sons Daniel and Jamie have been at least emotionally supporting their mother June since the split if not currently helping to care for her (she's now 88 if not 89 years of age!).It IS known that June Blair has NEVER remarried. Of course, what's rather sad about this is that their sons appear to have had little if anything to do with David or the rest of their paternal side after the split- and I've never heard how much (if any) interactions they have had with their stepsibs by Yvonne (John, Eric and Teri) whom David adopted(and the latter group have sung endless praises for David's strength and support for them and the rest of the Nelsons)! It's not known if his sons by June attended Rick's or Harriet's. .or their father's funerals but they appear to have missed such milestones as when David got his own Hollywood Walk of Fame Star in 1996 (which their adoptive sibs and other family members DID attend). Also, for whatever reason/s, David appears to have entrusted his youngest nephew Sam with the restoration of the series rather than any of his bio or adoptive progeny. |

Possibly it's because none of the rest have any interest in it. It would be interesting to know how the sales of the Time Life sets are doing.
Supposedly there is a full series set in the works but I have my doubts. The condition of the films is a mixed bag. Some episodes were re-edited for later-season repeats, removing some original material to make room for a Harriet intro., and a song by Rick at the end. Probably the removed footage was not retained, so Time Life used the later repeat episodes. A proper full-series set would use these also, but the original episode should be re-assembled and used in its original position. |
