Default Very weird James Evans moment in season 3 episode "The Gun"

When Thelma came home running and crying because she was attacked, why did James go running to go get a GUN? First of all he didnt even know who attacked her so who was he going after? lol And if he did know was he going to shoot someone and go to jail?

The gun was only supposed to be for if someone tried to break in their home not going to run and shoot teens

Yes, James behaved like a real bone-head at that moment. Then again, it was very bone-headed of him to bring a gun into the house at all especially seeing as how Michael was handling it like an idiot and even caused it to fire off a round.

and if he felt he needed a gun to protect his family he could have just kept it quiet and not told florida since it would have only been for rare situations

That's also true. He could have kept it safely locked away in a locked box.

I still remember a funny scene from that episode

Florida: James if someone broke in this house would you actually use that gun on them?

James: Is fat meat greasy?

That woman could be whacked sometimes. She also wanted James to take it easy on Mad Dog and at first, she wanted James to take it easy on that supermarket manager from the grocery store. It wasn't until she overheard him being a phony that she realized James shouldn't take it easy on that guy.

Oh yeah! That guy was GROSS dating a little 17 year old child. The man obviously had mental problems seeing as how he can't relate to women his own age. Anyway, I wouldn't blame James if he knocked his teeth out.

To be fair, Thelma was his ONLY Daughter and I would think MOST men would react the same way if their Daughter, especially their ONLY Daughter was attacked. But to be fair, IIRC, Thelma beat her Attacker up and he ran off, meaning she could handle herself. But still, even if she did beat her Attacker up and he ran off, I'd still think MOST Men would have reacted like James.

If James was gonna have a gun, I never understood why he didn't keep it in his bedroom, like in the closet maybe, instead of in the living room closet where everyone has access to it
