Music CASEY's TOP 40

I know this is a FOL site only, but did any of you guys ever listened or heard of CASEY's TOP 40?

I suddenly find myself lately, playing some of the romantic tunes they had during the late 80 s/early 90 s, and it just popped into my mind!

I remember coming home from high school and later on college, to switch on the radio and listen to whatever latest release was on, and getting so excited about it i didn't leave the house until much later, to then go dancing lol!

Anyone familiar with it? Retro? 80s? (maybe not Lorrimar, cos you were probably just born or?)

I had no idea that radio program aired in the UK.

Casey Kasem was a radio icon!

I'm pretty sure it was all over the world: some of my friends from overseas knew about it too and listened to it on the radio!

But this is a FOL board. It may not be Casey Kasem. It may be Casey who runs the community center in Peekskill!

Kasey Kasum does have a connection to the Facts of Life. He used to do the promos for NBC, including the Facts of Life.

Kasey Kasum also was the voice of Shaggy on Scobie Doo. Just as Mindy would be the voice of Velma years later.

Two awesome Facts of Life connections to Casey Kasem. I remember Casey's original promos. He was way better than that one announcer who read Facts of Life promos as if he was falling asleep while reading them!

Here's another Casey Kasem FOL promo:

Casey Kasum wasn't always as laid back like what he acted like on the radio.

If you want to talk about Casey Kasem, the Off Campus thread would be a great idea:

You are likely talking about American Top 40 w/Casey Kasem which ran 7/4/70- 8/6/88. Reruns are still aired by 100s of stations today. A contract dispute lead to him leaving and being replaced by Shadoe Stevens until the show ceased in 1995.

Copycat Casey's Top 40 ran 1989-1998 was carried by a different network wasn't as popular and it harder to find today.

American Top 40 had stations all over the world and was a staple on the Armed Forces Radio Network.
