Default Lisa Whelchel as a brunette

Since we already have threads for Charlotte's and Molly's hair color, I figured it was time for a Lisa hair color discussion.

Like Blair's hair, it's naturally brown, but she's been a blonde for decades.

Lisa looks very cute with her natural brown hair, but I do prefer her as blonde especially in the very first season of FOL. IMO, she looked her best in season 1 and then again in the ending episodes when she started to stop it with those ridiculous 80's hairstyles. I thought she looked very beautiful when she was buying Eastland at the very end. During Over Our Heads, she looked like a mess IMO.

I also prefer her as a blonde, and she became a TV icon with it.

Blair's hair was pretty amazing the first five years... with the exception of "Emily Dickinson". I think they were trying to hide a zit, because her hair pulled across her forehead was a terrible, terrible 'do, and I can't imagine why else you would have the hair across the forehead like that. Her hair resembled Donald Trump's.

Yes, Lisa was a stunner in the final episodes.

Some of those OOH 'dos the girls got were very avant-garde, but they have not dated well. Blair's "helmet hair" look was very '80s.

Blair did have more brownish hair on the first season. There were a couple of inside jokes about Blair's dark roots in the series.

Yeah, I'd call that "honey blond", as '80sSitcoms called it. Not really brown, but not her golden tresses of later years, either.

There definitely were. I'd even call it a running gag.

LISA's hair was especially darker during the Pilot 'Girls school' (she wasn't a fake blond yet).

Season 1 was a slightly lighter (honey blond as 80s would say)!

From season 1 onward, LISA turned complete blond and became: the fake blond!

It's a good thing The Facts of Life was cancelled after nine seasons. By Season 12, Lisa would have been an albino!

Don't forget we also saw Lisa with black hair when she was scoping out Edna's Edibles' competition.

Yeah, some of the 'dos in the later seasons just didn't look great. Same for Nancy McKeon's, when she ditched the signature Jo 'do.

Speaking of the earlier seasons, I didn't love Lisa's hair in the "Best Sister" episodes.

I'd forgotten that! "Mata Hari" sure was a distinctive look for Blair!

Yep. Some were lovely, some were terrible.

I've got no problem with Blair's hair in those episodes. In fact, in the first part of that episode, she's got her hair curled back on the sides, and I think that's very lovely.
