Last year, Apple TV proved themselves to be a bad Apple (pardon the pun) by having exclusive rights to the Peanuts specials. This got them BAD PUBLICITY so they offered to show A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and a Charlie Brown XMas on PBS. They didn’t show the It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown since the deal between PBS and Apple was made after Halloween,
When they showed A Charlie Briwn XMas on PBS, I decided to record it just in case that PBS was going to show it with the original sponsor plugs since PBS are non commercial stations and they can afford to show things like this uncut. You can pretty much guess what happened as far as the sponsor plugs go. On a side note, I find it ironic that I recorded this when my parents recorded the special off of CBS in the early 80s. Me and my family no longer have that tape. |

The thing that's sad about these shows is they evidently no longer have the ability to show standard definition shows in full-screen standard definition.
Which to me is just plain silly. They were either in those silly letterboxes which make you think you're watching a 1950s Philco TV, or in that stupid widescreen with the black bars, I can't remember which. Too bad they didn't air it as originally shown, where I'm sure they had bumpers and the mentioned sponsor plugs. |

Yes, they will air on free TV this year again on PBS.
