Mrs. Garrett's new husband in season 8: Ted or Bruce? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Do you think Ted, the man Mrs. Garrett hangs out with in season 6, could have been her new husband in season 8? I would have liked it, her relationship with him was established at that point. Bruce appears out of nowhere and we know very little about him.

What do you think?

The continuity of Ted was so much better. Her whirlwind marriage to Bruce came out of nowhere.

TED was far too old for MRS G, and very ugly! (BRUCE on the other hand was closer to her age, and attractive too)

I chose BRUCE GAINES!

Thanks for voting, guys. Everyone's opinion is welcomed. I like Bruce but I think choosing Ted would have meant a better continuity

Yeah, nothing wrong with Bruce, but Ted is better continuity: he already had a connection to Edna, instead of a stranger marrying Edna.

Then her dating history would be Ernie, Ted, then back to Ernie. I'm not sure that would be a better continuity.

Well Edna and Ernie see each other whenever he's in town (and have been for over 15 years), so he's always "around" in her dating history, hence an easy fit.

I really wonder why they didn't keep Ernie around for sporadic appearances. Maybe the actor was no longer available.

Story-wise they really did have an "open invitation" to utilize for him to come back.

You guys forgot the most obvious one: what about MR PARKER??? (he and MRS G had the greatest chemistry ha ha!)

PS: i like ERNIE too (and he called 'our feisty red head' EDDIE lol!)
