At first, I thought Betty was a pain in this episode.
It seems that she wanted to be a tutor so she could get closer to some of the good-looking football players. Muley kind of had the same idea when he saw Betty. Muley falls for Betty and then for Ralph's cousin as soon as he sees her. So to me, he is the one with the real issue. Betty is just overdramatic like always. It's a good thing she and John-Boy Walton are not together. They are both overdramatic. |

Betty didn't know what she wanted where Muley was concerned. She thought he was an oaf yet she finally accepted his date invitation.
Quite similar to the Rudy Kissler episode later. Different oaf, slightly different script. Speaking of over-dramatic, Rudy told Betty he loved her, and she went into the house in tears. All she had to do was tell him right there about the joke her friends had played, and that she didn't love him. |
