Cool Torgo!!! Have you seen the movie Scream, pretty Peggy? ??

A made for TV movie from 1973 with Bette Davis and Ted Bessell ( Donald Hollinger from That girl ) !

Or anyone else remember this movie? I very vaguely do ! And found out it will be released on DVD Oct.5 ! I preordered from Best Buy ! Only 14.00 total, including tax and shipping !!

Love the campy early 70's made for TV horror movie genre !!!

Cool !! Yeah, this movie looks like it will be good ! And you can't beat Bette Davis being in a made for TV horror movie! She's awesome !

And I been crushing on Ted Bessell since I started watching That girl on Antenna and also he was in a couple eps of Mary Tyler Moore playing her love interest on Decades ! He is so cute and cool ! After checking out his IMDB page, I found this movie and Bette Davis in it too!! Also a dark haired young actress who was in a lot of things from that time period who I like ! Can't think of her name at the moment, but just seeing her she's very recognizable and a good actress !

So I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie !

The actress that plays Peggy played John Boy's love interest Jenny in two The Waltons episodes, she also played Richard Thomas' sister in the movie You'll Like My Mother with Patty Duke, Richard Thomas is creepy in this one.

And another Waltons connection, Ted Bessell starred in the classic sitcom Me And The Chimp, a pre-Waltons Kami Cotler plays his daughter.

Oh yeah !! She totallly was Jenny !! I remember " You'll like my Mother" , it was creepy ! I haven't seen that in years, I'm tempted to order it , it is on DVD, I just checked !

Another time Richard Thomas played a creepy guy was a made for TV movie ( I think a Lifetime movie)? from the 90's with Brooke Shields called " Stalking Laura" , a true story !!

I remember " Me and the chimp" ! I liked it and was upset when it got canceled! When " The Homecoming " the pilot of the Waltons came on when I saw Elizabeth , I was like OMG , there's that cute little red haired girl from Me and the chimp !!!

I have preordered (Oct 5)it from amazon for 9.99. My other favorite 70's horror tv movies are Crowhaven Farm, The House That Wouldn't Die, Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark and Trilogy Of Terror. I own them all! Great movies back then! Scary without being too graphic.

I also recommend The Dark Secret Of Harvest Home starring Bette Davis(mini series 1978) It might be hard to find the film uncut but I think that amazon might have it. There are many butchered versions out there. Don't bother with them.

All 3 good!

Let's Scare Jessica To Death is fantastic, and one of the best of the 1970s. When someone says a movie drips with atmosphere, Let's Scare Jessica is always the first movie I think of.

Ted Post, who directed Five Desperate Women also directed The Baby from 1973, one of my favorite weird horror movies.

Some other favorites, not made for TV, from the 70s:

Don't Look In The Basement

Poor Pretty Eddie (Starring Leslie Uggams, Shelley Winters, Ted Cassidy, and Michael Christian is really good as Eddie)

Fright (one of the earlier babysitter terrorized movies)

Alice Sweet Alice

The Little Girl Who Lived Down The Lane

Deathdream (sort of an update on The Monkey's Paw)

Terror At Red Wolf Inn (Mary Jackson, who played Emily Baldwin on The Waltons, and Arthur Space who plays her husband, run an inn where they host young ladies, and the couple may or may not be cannibals!)

Warlock Moon (Laurie Walters and Joe Spano go on a picnic and discover a creepy abandoned resort)

Welcome To Arrow Beach

Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (another one that drips with atmosphere, love the 1930 Southern setting)

Crypt Of Dark Secrets (I admit, Maureen Ridley as Damballa might have partially influenced by liking of this film, it is good though!)

Till Death (Creepy little film about a man who becomes trapped in his dead wife's crypt)

I'm sure your Scream Pretty Peggy came. Did you watch it? I finally got a chance to yesterday!! LOVED IT!!! My gosh i (Spoiler Alert) it was SO strange seeing good guy, wholesome Don Hollinger playing a psycho!!!!! And same with "You'll like my mother" That was good too! Same thing seeing John Boy Walton play a weirdo was strange!! Patty Duke was great and the atmosphere that spooky old mansion in a snowstorm made it so eerie !!

I also recently saw Black Christmas 1974 on Netflix!! That was a trip!! Another cool old early 70's campy horror movie !!
