Default Do Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie occur in the same universe?

I'm wondering if in Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie is just a TV show....I'm just wondering if Samantha ever turns on the TV and is like, "Hmm they are similar to us!" lol or do they take place in the same reality

I know the Bewitched house appears several times as a house on I Dream of Jeannie. Here's one example, but there are more.

Yes I thought it was neat how Dr. Bellows house was Samantha's and how Larry Tate's house was Jeannie's lol But obviously their not supposed to those houses. I was just always wanting to see a cross-over between the two shows

I would have loved that. Apparently, Elizabeth didn't like Barbara.

I think she did like Barbara; they were pregnant at the same time and Barbara Eden said they were friends. I think she just wasn't a "morning person" when Barbara was singing then.

I did read a pretty good fanfic, in which they meet, McMann and Tate was contacted to do an ad for Nasa, thus Tony and Darrin meet, Samantha sees Jeannie use her powers and thinks she is also a witch... There is conflict because witches have been oppressing genies for centuries, genies are actually way more powerful than witches, but witches have somehow kept them intimidated and fear one day the Genies will discover they are more powerful and seek revenge. Samantha doesn't know any of this, but Endora has a huge hand in it....so there arises conflict between Endora and Jeannie, Jeannie pretty much kicks Endora's ass. Jeannie's sister even helps Jeannie, at least a LITTLE in this story.

That sounds awesome! I would have loved to have seen something like that. It's a shame the shows were on competing networks. (Of course, I always wanted to see an Addams Family/Munsters crossover, too).

Me too on the Munsters and Addams! Tho I'm of the opinion they would at least get along, I don't really think they would hang out a lot mainly because they were the opposite really... as the Munsters tried to be normal and the Addams reveled in the fact they were different lol

It didn't happen in the same universe, otherwise there would be nobody left in that neighborhood. Everyone that lives in the same neighborhood as Samantha and Jeannie, would have run away and never come back.

Was the fan fiction in question from here under the IDOJ crossovers section?

I think part of the problem is that the Munsters were, monsters aside, just a typical suburban family. The Addams family came from old money: they had two live-in servants and a (headless) rose garden.

That's true! Cue the sped-up footage of neighbors running out the door!

I didn't mean in the same neighborhood, I meant more like in the same TV reality... I THINK Bewitched takes place in New York, if I'm not mistaken... so I mean like could do Tony and Jeannie exist where Sam and Darrin could visit them or I wonder if IDoJ is just a TV show to the Bewitched characters?

Herman was quite childlike, I could see him being frightened of some of the Addams' antics lol... Morticia and Lily would probably get along ok... I could see Grandpa and Gomez getting along, enjoying a cigar together and talking about the old country, also Fester and Grandpa might have some in common. Grandpa might try to date Mama lol
