Nick at Nite Request: "Lou Grant"

Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,

I have a proposal for Nick at Nite: in memory of Ed Asner, who died yesterday at age 91, it's my humblest request for Nick at Nite to make a deal with 20th Television for Nick at Nite to become the exclusive basic cable home of the hit '70s Newspaper Drama "Lou Grant," showcasing all 114 hour-long episodes of the long-running spin-off of the sitcom "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" 100% Complete, 100% Uncut, AND 100% Unedited, as each episode originally aired on the CBS Television Network from September 20, 1977 - September 13, 1982.

At the start of the series, after "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" ended, Lou Grant (after being fired by WJM-TV news in Minneapolis), found work as City Editor for the fictional Los Angeles Tribune in Los Angeles, California, officially working for old friend and managing editor Charlie Hume (Mason Adams), with the L.A. Tribune run and owned by Margaret Pynchon (Nancy Marchand).

Lou's fellow colleagues at the Los Angeles Tribune included Joe Rossi (Robert Walden), the hotshot reporter; Art Donovan (Jack Bannon), the assistant city editor; and Dennis "Animal" Price (Daryl Anderson), the staff photographer.

Reruns of "Lou Grant" previously aired during the 1990s on A&E, after which they were last aired on the former AmericanLife Television Network for a time.

Tentatively, Nick at Nite shall add "Lou Grant" to its regular schedule starting on Monday, September 5, 2022 with a week-long marathon titled "Nick at Nite Grants Lou Grant," showcasing 45 of the most memorable episodes of "Lou Grant" in an all-night marathon from 9 P.M. to 6 A.M. ET each night; after the marathon, Nick at Nite shall air regular reruns of "Lou Grant" weeknights at 11 P.M. ET on Nick at Nite.
