I was listening to my copy of Destiny's Child's Survivor and noticed that the song Independent Women Part II sampled the theme song to the cartoon Peabody's Incroppable History and I had never heard about this cartoon. I do know that that there was a movie about Peabody and Mr. Sherman and it flopped in theaters. Was this cartoon really popular when it debuted?

Hi, Bestie! A long time ago it was popular. At the same time as Rocky and Bullwinkle. I don't know if the modern version was popular or not.

There are a lot of versions of The Bullwinkle Show, but many times Peabody's Improbable History is part of this animated show from the 1960s. It involves a glasses-wearing smart dog, Mr. Peabody, and a little boy, Sherman. They time travel in a "WABAC Machine," where Mr. Peabody and Sherman straighten out some historic event so it goes as, well, it did. It invariably ends with some pun by Mr. Peabody.
