Default Should a Rapist have Parental Rights? :/

I was dating a guy in 2007 and 2008 and we had a disagreement over whether or not a Rapist should have Parental Rights. I said,"No, he shouldn't have Parental Rights because the Baby was conceived from RAPE. He doesn't deserve Parental Rights. My then Boyfriend argued, "But the Baby was conceived from his sperm, so he deserves Parental Rights as he is the Biological Father. " We went back and forth. I still feel to this day a Rapist does not deserve Parental Rights... What do you guys think?

I am not a judge but I would think that a crime is committed so the criminal doesn't have a prayer.

Angry

A firm no! His sperm may have conceived the child, but it was
the result of an act of violence against it's mother! He should not
parental rights at all and I don't even know why this is an issue that
needs to be discussed! This is the first time in a while that I have gotten
angry on here, but something like this burns me up!

Do you really need a poll for this?

How about murderers getting their victim's life insurance money?

have a habit on here of making threads that are stupid and don't make
sense at all.
I agree that the Rapist should have no Parental Rights.... That was my argument with my ex Boyfriend.... I can't believe he said a Rapist deserves Parental Rights....m

Why is my above post hidden when you view it from Chit Chat main page? On Chit Chat main page, it says that Dude is the last person who replied when I was the last person to respond. Weird.

Does he also believe in community service for murderers?

What if it was a woman who raped a guy? Would you feel differently? You assume only men are rapists since that's the gender you're pointing out. I worked with a woman who molested a developmentally disabled teenage boy while she was high. She didn't end up pregnant but our judicial system felt she needed more punishment for being on drugs than screwing up a kid's mind that it was ok to have sex with kids. I don't think anyone (men and women) who rapes someone should have parental rights to the child. That should be the child's choice when they're older if they want to meet the person who violated their other parent to conceive them.

It actually depends. If the rapist already repented and have already served the justice, maybe, give him a chance with still proper guidance from the professionals.
