http://www.perfectstrangers.tv/episodeguide104.htm The most eerie Perfect Strangers Episode I seen was "The Men who knew Too Much." This episode was supposed to be a parody of action movies that was released at the time plus a parody of Bullet the Clint Eastwood scene. But the most eerie thing I seen is that Balki and Larry filmed a murder with a camcorder. This took place way before it became common for security cameras and peoples phones to film a murder and or acts of brutality police which became common way long after the show was over. Also being in a high speed chase that was at the time a parody way before it became common for local LA TV stations to cover car chases. In other words the whole premise of the episode pre dated Rodney King and the crew had no idea the episode they released would be common and controversial way long after the show was over. |

It's funny you brought up that particular episode because I felt that one stood out more than any other because it didn't fel like a comedy. It felt more like an action thriller which was what they were going for. It reminded me of so many adventure shows where they had to probe who really killed someone before the 45 minute episode would end which was great because this episode wasn't just a 22 minute comedy sitcom. it was an outdoors episode which didn't happen much since there was an audience with real laughing. here we have a taped laugh track and you could tell the way some of the jokes just didn't land as much but the laugh track was loud. Another episode I felt was a bit strange for a comedy series was one that really touched me. The episode Balki had to say goodbye to his yaya Biki. I couldn't stop from crying at the end of the episode learning to say good bye to a parent I loved through Baliki. Strange for a comedy but these "heart" moments is really what I loved about Perfect Strangers too another example is the one where Larry suspected Balki of stealing Jennifer from him when he was getting him a typewriter with feather touch control or the one where Balki gets used and dumped by his classmate who only used him to pass the class and Larry was there to pick up the pieces.

My most favorite part of that episode is the end when Jennifer and Mary-Anne show up and for once, Balki gives Mary-Anne the kiss that she is always giving him.
