Well, "Frog and Toad" by Arnold Lobel, not "The Wind in the Willows", but yeah, FaT does kind of have that same kind of WitW feel.

I was inspired because I just finished "Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury" last night which is a hardback edition containing all four volumes of that famous '70s best friend duo Frog and Toad.
