Default Clown Picture

Have you ever noticed in the boys' bedroom right next to the door is a pictur of this scary looking clown on the wall?? I don't know why it's there, it's really freaky! I mean aren't they a little old to have ANYTHING to do with clowns in their bedroom.

I noticed that too. I almost posted about it. I agree it doesn't seem like the type of pic they would have on their wall. The boys were way too old for that. You would think that they would have more sports pics in their room of baseball players and stuff. there were a few team penants but that was all.

It's so funny you bring that up. I was going to post about that clown picture. I think it was a popular paint by numbers picture of the day. Back in the 50's and 60's that was a huge craze, the paint by numbers and I'm sure that's what it was. There was also a horse and a few others that are just kind of pbn classics. Maybe it was some kind of stab at authenticity of what a boys' room would have although I think the horse pic would have been more in keeping with their decor.

There are two clown pictures that I have noticed. The reason they caught my eye was that I own a set of clown pictures that includes the two. I've been trying to find more info about the pics themselves.

Speaking of stuff in the boys' room what the heck is that wooden thing that is often times either on the bookcase or on the bureau. Once or twice Beaver is holding it and brushing it with some sort of knife. I wish I could remember which episodes it's in but it appears in Season 4 and looks like a totem pole. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I think we see it in Stanley the Monkey in their room when Beaver asks Wally how to wash a mouse. Beaver is also holding it in Beaver's Report Card when Ward calls him down to show him how the mark was changed.

I'm not sure about Wally & Beaver being too old for a clown picture in their room. My mother-in-law used to have both clown pictures and figurines in her house and she was certainly older than they were. Of course, it might not be something a teenage boy would want to have. Maybe it is from one of those paint-by-numbers kits.

With regards to them having pictures or photos of sports-related items, it does appear there are pictures or news clippings of athletes on what what looks to be a bulletin board there in their bedroom.

Beaver may even have the newspaper clippings from all the times he's appeared in the local paper.

During the Pandemic lockdown, my wife and I started watching several classic tv shows like Father Knows Best, Donna Reed and Leave it to Beaver. We found ourselves searching on IMDB when we recognized young actors before they became more famous. Then we searched if they were still living and other curious thoughts like when were they born many in the late 1800’s - wow! Now we want to know more about things that we see in the background…like the clown picture in Beaver & Wallys room. We also noticed in season 1 eps 14 - there is a clown cookie jar that Wally takes a cookie from! We have seen another clown picture in one of the shows, but I’ll have to recall that one later - what was with all the clowns

Weren't Beaver and Wally playing with a clown toy at the very end of the series finale?

It was originally Beaver's Wind Up Clown playing a violin, but he was too young when he got it to play with or appreciate and it showed up undamaged when found like 12 years later ... and boy did the violin sound bad after all those years ...
