In another thread, Wawwie made an observation tonight that I thought was a good one:

Some really good answers, here.
Here are mine: 1. The Facts of Life - The first six seasons, anyway. Once Edna's Edibles burns to the ground, it's definitely not as cozy. But whether it's the cozy dorm with the beautiful grandfather clock with the celestial face; the soothing warmth of the larger cafeteria; or the quichey goodness of the bakery, this was one homey show. I've tried baking some of the food shown in the first six seasons, but it's just not the same. Except the Mystery Meat. I didn't even attempt that one. ![]() 2. The Golden Girls - Just the music between scenes is very relaxing and homey. What was that? A harp? I have no idea. And the cheesecake! 3. Diff'rent Strokes - At least the earlier years. 4. Friends - Watching it takes me back to my own large apartment in a small city around the same time, when my job was a joke, I was broke, and my love life was beyond DOA. I could go home and watch six people who were my friends on the other side of the glass. 5. I'm reserving this one until I see more answers, and decide to steal someone else's answer! I almost stole Oh Nuts' answer of Bewitched, as it's one of my earliest memories, but there might be a better answer.

I love Murder She Wrote, but have always believed that Jessica Fletcher framed all of those people. How else do we explain how the murder rate suddenly explodes in the area, whether she's in Cabot Cove, Maine, or New York City?

I thought about adding this one, but decided against it. The later years were so violent. "May We Bake Them Brown" and the Mime episode are examples of absolute nightmare fuel.

The first four seasons were hilarious, but once little Judy Winslow disappeared, and no-one in her family even noticed, I couldn't watch anymore.
