I remember watching Mr. Roger's alot when I was little, he was a very caring person and he was a children's television Icon. Ii was watching a tribut to him on PBS this evening at it was very well done. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. This is truly a sad day today

That's very sad about Fred Rogers.
The strange thing is that he never really seemed as old as he really was. One thing I thought was really upsetting is that I used to know people who ragged on him for being a little too goody-two-shoes and clean cut. On the radio, they ragged him out as a "wimp". And at the time it was fun to go on about that, to be cool and all, but Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood really hit the spot for us kids way back when. It was a safe place, he made you feel comfortable, he made you feel good about yourself. That Land of Make-Believe was a real trip, I thought. I remember the one thing about this Purple Panda who came on there andspoke in this real monotone--he came from a planet where there were nothing but purple pandas who were all the same...I thought, what a boring planet...AND THAT WAS WHEN I LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF NON-CONFORMITY AND BEING YOURSELF. Thank you, Mr. Rogers for helping me learn how to deal with the Purple Pandas in this world.

My friend told me today in English class. I'll really miss him. I still remember him tying his shoes and pulling out his sweater. I loved him. RIP Mister Rogers.

It's sad enough that he died, but the way he died - stomach cancer - that had to be a terrible way to go

This is so sad. I loved Mister Rogers, he was such a calm and soothing presence. He was an important part of many childhoods. He will be missed.
