It has been over a month since I started a thread called "The Luck of the Irish". In this thread, I mentioned the fact that Joey's family had prejudice against the Irish as well as people who worked for the postal service. I felt that it was interesting that his family's prejudice against the Irish was never dealt with before or since. I have since seen this episode in syndication. The episode was called "The One with Rachel's Big Kiss". This episode was very late in the series. I have since thought of two earlier occasions in which there were characters with Irish names. In the first season, there was an episode that dealt with Monica having had a crush on a boy named Jason Hurley in high school. Because Joey was not there when this boy was mentioned, there was no occasion for Joey to make any type of remark about his ethnicity. I believe that it was in the second season in which Monica was dating a man twenty-one years her senior who answered to the name Dr. Burke. Another Irish name. They could have written into the script something about Joey saying that his family would not like him. Pointing all of this out is really just an attempt to stimulate some conversation.

In the first place, I remember Rose making that Joke on the "Golden Girls". I thought it was very funny! On top of this, I would like to make a correction to something that I said in my initial post. I wrote that it had been over a month since my thread titled "Luck of the Irish". I meant to write that it had been over "two" month since the start of that thread! Sorry about my carelessness.
