Say it ain't so, Joe.
Those Medicare Advantage ads run more than once every half hour on every oldies digital broadcast channel I watch. Please stop! Or put a cap on how many times and hour this runs - or make some alternate ads. I now have to mute it for sheer repetition. |

I'm more annoyed by Mike Ditka and Joe Theisman than Joe Namath.

If it was up to me, I would put a 30sec cap on their commercials.

I don't mind Mike Ditka and Joe Theismann, but Joe Namath I cannot stand.

My father is a Fox News addict (seriously he watches Fox News 95 percent of the time...literally). I watch it a little bit and will watch Tucker Carlson on YouTube (which isn’t here nor there) but if I am home it’s FOX on almost all the time blaring since my father is in his late 80’s.
Fox skews an older demographic and see a lot of ads for insurance, medicine or precious metals, hawked by way over the hill actors like William Devane (who I think hawked precious metals) and Morgan Fairchild. So it makes sense for Namath to sell crap to seniors because he is a recognizable face to that generation (I was a baby when he won the Super Bowl so he is before my time). But stuff sold to older folks are going to be sold by people recognizable to them. Makes sense. I think TV commercials are in decline and slowly dying. People are now buying subscriptions for channels they want to watch, the “on demand” thing, or do what I do and find websites that show programming without commercials (Google “watch series online free”). |

I don't see the purpose in watching commercials anymore, unless you want to know what junk or scam to avoid. With maybe an exception or two, if it is advertised on TV these days it cannot be any good. And that does not even count the unacceptable amount of ads or how obnoxious modern ads are.
