Default Prequels

are there any sitcoms you'd like to see a prequel to? I wouldn't mind seeing one to THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW showing Andys wife and what happened to her, when he became sheriff, Opie being born, how Barney got to be his deputy, etc.

Gilligan's Island - What were the lives of the castaways like before they landed on the island and how did they all end up on the 3 hour tour that put them there together?

And where they loaded all the extra stuff they happened to have with them. And maybe we could get a glimpse of Gilligan being a "mighty sailing man."

That might get a little creepy, didn't Ann marry Ed right out of high school, Ann still a teenager with Ed already in his late 30's!

Thanks, Bonniegirl! I didn't get it, either.

But I still want to see Gilligan being a "mighty sailing man!"

Me too . I'd love to also meet Skinny Mulligan , the friend Gilligan always talked about .Go back long before they all went on the vacation in Hawaii .See the Howell's in rich high society, Mary Ann on the farm in Kansas , Ginger as a Hollywood actress. The professor teaching at a University . And of course Skipper's and Gilligan's life before they knew each other than as Gilligan became the first mate , the mighty sailor man .

Wouldn't this make a fun mini series ?

Yes it would. They ought to do it. It'd take awhile to find the right actors.

I'm glad you liked my "Gilligan's Island" idea. Here's another one I thought of. It would be from "Happy Days" and it would be based on Fonzie's childhood, which was hardly mentioned by him on the show but that only helped add to his mysterious and somewhat dark personality which only seemed to make him look cooler. I think it would be interesting to see how he grew up, from being left alone by his parents at 5, to living as a nerdy child looking to be noticed and accepted, to becoming the gang leader of the Falcons, to eventually becoming the coolest man in Milwaukee and possibly all of America! In the supporting cast, you can include Rocky Baruffi, his best friend as a teenager, and even Carmine Ragusa from "Laverne & Shirley".

Would this be called "Young Fonzie?"

I like the Gilligan's Island idea -- just The Howells alone could be a funny show (but not without the original cast, sadly).

"Prewitched" - How about the past lives of Samantha before she met Darrin? -- Her unbridled witchly adventures might be entertaining and help us understand why the quiet life would ultimately appeal to her. She might have been as naughty as Serena in past times. And you'd have all her relatives to work with too.
