Default Lee Meriwether

Beaver out collecting door to door for community chest, one "donor" answers the door, and I'm immediately puzzled by her familiar good looks. Couldn't identify her, no matter how hard I tried. Just something hauntingly familiar about that smile.

Then as the credits rolled, seeing that it was former Miss American Lee Meriwether really sent me on a journey down the time tunnel.

Who would be smiling like that answering the door for two little creeps soliciting donations? Must have been a "soft" audition for some bigger part?

Particularly a little creep like Gilbert.

Credits, from Wikipedia:

Guests: Stephen Talbot as Gilbert Bates, Dorothy Neumann as Older Neighbor, Lee Meriwether as Young Neighbor, Claudia Bryar as Mrs. Hirsch, Bruno VeSota as Angry Neighbor.

Stunning on match game. I don't think even Brett Somers would even mess with the former Miss America.

Knowing I had seen the face before, but not being sure of where...and she was only on camera for several seconds....I wondered if it might be Anita Bryant in some odd cameo.
So, that's what I was looking for when the credits started rolling.

Lee's hair does look very dark in that scene, so I can see why you thought it might be Anita.

Lee's Barnaby Jones work has had good exposure on MeTV in recent years, but likely a lot of people have missed seeing it in the early morning hours. She looks good in that, especially on the early season episodes.

It's an odd feeling when you see a face that you KNOW you know who it is, but just can't recall who, or why. Kind of gives some insight into the reliability of eyewitness testimony?

She was a good Catwoman in the 60s Batman movie. I think that was her only really sexy role. Charming and attractive lady. Always very well spoken too. Her daughter used to fill in for models on Price is Right in the 80s if any of the regular models missed a show.

It looks like it might be a wig, for whatever reason.

Lee Meriwether in "Community Chest" just 26 years old. Very impactful one minute she was on. Her and the people answering the door saved the rehashed episode. Anyone notice how short June's jacket was when she went to open house? Probably was the style. But it looked kind of ridiculous on such a beautiful outfit BB was wearing. BB looks pretty good dressed up.
