I think people are referring to when they say the 80s had a lot of junk is the quality and increase in vulgarity. Not saying that the 80s was totally vulgar, it just didn’t quite have that “wholesome, innocent, subtle” feeling that the 50s-70s era had. It was a new era and scene. I do agree 100% when people say some 80s sitcoms have aged poorly.

In the Kansas City area, Nexstar owns WDAF-TV, which carries Antenna TV on Ch. 4.2, Court TV on Ch. 4.3 (Also seen on KPXE-TV, Ch. 50.2.) & TBD on Ch. 4.4. I think that Rewind TV will replace Court TV.

I just hope Rewind doesn’t crunch the credits.

They probably will, but only on the shows\episodes that don't have scenes playing during the end credits.

I looked at the current lineup of Antenna TV and they are airing for a week:

80's series that cross over to the 90's: 36 hours (i.e. 227, Designing Women)
70's series that cross over to the 80's: 9 hours (i.e. Three's Company, One day at a time)
So they will need to fill 36 or 45 hours of series from the 50's-70's on Antenna TV.

Rewind TV has initially 21 series, so either they are going to air multiple episodes of the same series in a day, or they are going to possibly duplicate the lineup twice a day (If they are not going to add informercials) Any one else have any thoughts?

And I would not expect any major lineup changes on Antenna TV till the launch of Rewind TV.

Already shows like The Facts of Life have been removed from Antenna's daytime lineup, while it airs shows like McHale's Navy.

But some of the late 90's programs like Suddenly Susan or Caroline in the City were cancelled under 5 years and aren't that appealing as a re-run. And while not a sitcom, a few series like Beverly Hills 90210 would probably fit in well on a Rewind TV in that 90s TV group.

Three's Company and One Day at a Time are considered primarily 70s shows that aired the tail end of their run for a few years in the 80s. Those two would remain on Antenna TV. And it sounds like 80s Johnny Carson will still air on Antenna as he is their flagship show and wasn't on the list of Rewind shows. With all the newer shows leaving Antenna, it is high time The Jack Benny Program got an hour on weekday afternoons.

It is sad but not surprising to see Benson get treated like garbage and not even air on Rewind when it launches. It is more surprising Coach won't be moving over as Coach has always done well, but maybe they need to fill the Antenna schedule more as the selection of pre 80s shows they have is a lot less.

Mork and Mindy is a show that straddled both 70s and 80s decades. I would have kept it on Antenna TV as Rewind already has a lot more shows, plus season 1 which was all 70s was easily Mork and Mindy's best season.

Yeah, I think Antenna will keep the sitcoms like Three's Company, Barney Miller, The Jeffersons, etc. and 80s and 90s Johnny Carson but everything else (or mostly everything else) will be on Rewind. From what I understand, Antenna will have nothing that solely started in the 80s or solely in the 90s aside from Johnny Carson, according to the blog & press release earlier in the thread. So shows like Coach, Gimme a Break, It's a Living, Benson, & Silver Spoons that are not on the launch lineup for Rewind will most likely leave Antenna entirely (especially Benson as it's not airing right now at all) but I could definitely see all five shows coming to Rewind at some point since they are 80s and 90s sitcoms. We'll see about them coming, but they'll be off Antenna entirely, and I'm assuming they'll get more 60s and 70s sitcoms in September (would be nice to see ones like Mister Ed & The Patty Duke Show) to fill the gaps left by no more 80s sitcoms.

Are you insinuating that you think that Coach will still be on Antenna's lineup come September? Because they'll be solely, aside from Johnny Carson, focusing on sitcoms from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Coach will most likely move to Rewind in the future, but probably not yet as Antenna has played it a lot so it must need a rest for awhile but since they are adding three new shows in 2022 (Rewind, that is), they'll likely add some more of the shows formerly aired by Antenna. Antenna will just most likely add more 60s and 70s sitcoms starting this fall. It would be totally unrealistic to think that Coach, a 90s sitcom, would still be on Antenna, a channel meant for sitcoms from the 50s, 60s, and 70s once they change their format to that.

Bachelor Father should return to Antenna TV in September. That show has really been missed.
