I remember the early Family Ties episode when Arthur, a long time friend of Steven made a pass at Mallory. It was the only episode Arthur appeared.

I think he was called an uncle out of respect for the close relationship that Steven had with Arthur.

"Mallory is sixteen and if the Keatonses don't go to the police with what they know, Arthur's next female target could be six"
