ok, thanx everyone. I assumed they are it's just that someone on here said they saw an episode of BURNS & ALLEN on there recently and the credits weren't crunched so I was thinking that they finally stopped. I knew it was too good to be true though.

I don't like when they do that however it is not going to prevent me from watching their channel. Most channels do it these days and I agree it is ridiculous. They have to squeeze their pathetic extra commercials in. All due to the fact that TV advertising was deregulated.

That was me. Don't know why they left that one episode untouched, but they definitely did.

By the way.
Anyone else find it even more unacceptable that cable channels heavily edit shows down that were originally broadcast on free TV( back when the networks were good), just to fit in extra commercials. Cable channels you pay for. I am not referring to Antenna TV this time which is a free channel. An example, a half hour show made in the 1970s originally broadcast on one of the three networks( free TV) ran about 25 minutes or so. On your typical cable channel these days it is edited down to around 18 maybe 20 minutes tops. And that does not even count what they do with the credits and all the other nonsense they pull.

Antenna TV's credit crunches occur basically 99.5% of the time, only every once in a rare while there's an episode of something that's not credit crunched.

My recordings of The Joey Bishop Show episodes from Antenna TV, episodes 1 and 2 from season one don't have the credits crunched but every episode after that has the credits crunched.

Also, when Antenna TV first started airing their edited versions of the Joey Bishop Show, the episodes were 23 minutes with 7 minutes of commercials. Then a year or so later, Antenna wanted an additional minute of precious commercial time so the shows started being sped up to run 22 minutes with 8 minutes of commercials.

I e-mailed them once and complained about it and they apologized for it and said they don't like doing it but they do because an unfortunate side effect of the popularity of "retro channels" is that the priced of vintage reruns keeps increasing. They looked at a few ways they could save on costs and unfortunately crunching the credits is the cheapest.

Every once in awhile you can really notice the speeding, esp. on MeTV. Mybe their machine goes berserk and they don't notice.

If I watch a Brady Bunch on DVD the opening theme sounds SLOW. I guess you get used to it speeded up.
