Cheers. I did print something out to watch it in production order but I found the way they did the dates confusing so I gave up. In broadcast order I guess Blair comes across as a cheater.

Are the episodes on the dvds generally in production then?

I have just watched the 'Crusin' episode which was filmed all at night and on location. I quite enjoyed it. Looks like Shout did well to clear all those songs. I wonder if there is a directors cut showing the behinds of the mooners?

I have found myself thinking, a reason I was not clear on the cafeteria set is because there was no need for them to be there all the time. Poor Mrs G. She had a bedroom over the kitchen where she worked but no private living room that she and the girls could use. At least Ednas shop has the living room space and it makes sense for them to be there.

That's why i like the 'Edna's Edibles' years so much: the living room reminded so much of the season 1 Golden era, when they all looked so cozy living together like a real family....

I think the dates being next to each other and in the American format is what cause my mind to melt.

I wonder if after watching TFoL, one should watch The Golden Girls and imagine that is the girls about 30-40 years in the future.

The DVDs are in broadcast order; the Production Guide is nice for referring to when an episode was taped. Unfortunately, we know it has at least one mistake in it, as we have a ticket for a taping which has a different date.

I wonder if after watching TFoL, one should watch The Golden Girls and imagine that is the girls about 30-40 years in the future.

Jo/Blair may match Dorothy/Blanche, but what about Tootie and Natalie?

I think Tootie and Natalie married the brothers from Diff'rent Strokes and two of the lost girls moved in with Jo and Blair.

Yes, they are in airdate order than how they were produced. I have digital copies of the show and rearranged the episodes in production order to make sense. There's a couple of episodes I have out of order like Summer of 84 and The More The Marrier because of the story conflicting with an episode after it. Season 9, Pippa is first mention in The More The Marrier that was filmed first but she's not even introduced until Up From Down Under. I played around with it to get them in a great order to make sense.

Thank you! I love Dark Shadows and the movies made from it. It's an awesome show that was SOOOOOOO expensive to own as it was being released on DVD back in the day

That would be hilarious if they actually had a scene of guys really mooning them and the girls weren't expecting it. Something similar happened to Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon during the filming of The Banger Sisters. Their characters collected pictures of penises so the production crew replaced pictures of fake penises with pictures of their own. They were not expecting that so the shock look on their faces was real during that scene in the movie. Goldie keeps looking up at the crewmen as her character is looking at the pictures. It makes the scene more comical IMO.

I'm in the middle of my season 6 rewatch. Have you or anyone else notice how much Blair and Jo are always in the spotlight these two years? Natalie and Tootie are like supporting characters in their show. Blair and Jo take up over half of each season about them together or their characters separately. Even Natalie's grief episode in season 5 after her father dies is mainly about Blair jealous of Jo's popularity. Season 6 has Natalie used quite a bit to jump start the spotlight onto them. She's the reason Jo gets into the pizza business, the reason Blair meets the guy of her dreams in Gone With The Wind, the reason Jo and Blair have an episode dedicated to them on computer dating, and so on. Talk, Talk, Talk is another episode where Natalie gets the girls to support Jo in another Jo centered episode. I never realized how the writing was those two years until closely looking at these seasons. Rewatches are so fun of shows you love

YEP. The writers were so fixated on Blair/Jo that they often forgot about Nat, Toot, and even Mrs. Garrett.

The Edna's Edibles seasons are really the Blair / Jo show. It wasn't like this in the Eastland years. Everything was balanced those years so it was equal. Season 7 also isn't like this. There's like 5 episodes that are Jo centered instead of like 10 or 12 in season 5 and again season 6. The OOH years seem to have brought back the balance of making things equal again for all girls. That's another reason I like season 8 so much. It's not a Blair / Jo show. We get a lot of Natalie episodes, Tootie episodes, and a couple of Beverly Ann episodes. It's about all of them instead of just the two show stealers from seasons 5 and 6

I definitely get your love for Season 8, and I enjoy the first half of it myself.

I don't feel as though OOH balanced everyone again, as Mrs. Garrett became a ghost in her own house.

But that was Charlotte's choice, not the writers or producers. Charlotte stated many times in interviews she wanted to move on. She went on a break in season 6 and again in season 7 before deciding she was permanently done. If an actor / actress wants to quit and goes on breaks from the show, how are they to give that performer equal airtime? Charlotte caused her character to be a ghost by taking off for half a season in both seasons 6 and 7.

It was Charlotte's decision, but I still don't have to like it. They could have at least given Charlotte something to do in the episodes she was in. Flitting in to deliver cookies, then flitting back out, wasn't much of a role, and we know this is one reason why Charlotte wanted to move on. She acted in TV and film for another 30 years, and she wasn't too frail to do multiple series and films in the same year.

Oh you're talking about Come Back To The Truck Stop Natalie Green. She only did it that one episode and technically it wasn't even Mrs. Garrett. It was a character in Natalie's story Mrs. Garrett was playing. The rest of the episodes she's there talking to the girls and giving advice like Men For All Seasons, A New Life, or The Christmas Baby. If all she's doing in the episodes you have watched of season 7 is delivering cookies and leaving, then you're watching edited episodes. That's why I'm so glad Shout released this series complete on DVD

I was curious how much I spent on the set back when it was released. I found my receipt in my email. I spent $159.98 when I pre-ordered the set on September 15th 2014. Shipping was $24 bucks because I picked the quickest shipping available. I also had an email confirmation December 1st 2014 letting me know my set was shipped so I must have received it a few days after. Looks like I did the same thing with Maude because I spent $23 bucks for shipping on that set in my pre-order. Shout had a great year in 2014 with releases. Money well worth spending because these shows always get watched on a regular basis in my place
