Default Suzanne Somers Radio Interview Today

Just heard her in a 30 minute interview and what a successful woman after she was fired from Three's Company, due to being paid much less than men, she's done so much with her life and I own her Thighmaster and used it for years. And use some of the bioidentical hormone replacements she talks and writes about in her books....

She's 74, husband Alan Hamil 84, and married 44 yrs and having the time of their lives. A sharp woman and nice person.

I didn't watch much tv back in 70's and 80's but may have seen a couple of the Three's Company programs, and then there's dear John Ritter, RIP.

I have never felt as though Suzanne's been completely honest about her firing, but the "Chrissy Minute" was cruel, and I'm glad she went on to other successful projects. She was great in Step By Step.

That thighmaster is basically a scam. It doesn't even build any functional muscle.

You'd be much better off simply doing squats with a chair underneath & that won't cost you a penny!

She was a pioneer for fighting for equal pay for women. However, her antics were so wrong. She openly promoted herself as the star of the show and disrespected her cast mates. Her antics of failing to show up for filming really put the cast and crew in disarray. They were actually handed 2 scripts for awhile just in case she refused to show up. Having said that, ABC was definitely way too harsh on her. She was in breach of contract IMHO but they should have fired her after the season. Making her do those "phone in" segments were designed to humiliate her. No one was even talking to her on the other end of the phone. She had zero contact with anyone and it was done in a trailer far far away.
She ended up making far more money after leaving the show for all her adventures anyway but she and her husband were so wrong in their tactics.

LOL...when you are acting & talking on the phone no one is EVER on the other end because you're just ACTING!

You're simply reciting lines into the phone!

But you can still have someone feed you your lines.

You missed the point. She was not even near the Threes Company studio.

Today the producers of that show would not be able to treat Suzanne like they did. Women in Hollywood who stood up for themselves back then were frowned upon. Today Suzanne would have people backing her up. She had a successful career after Three's company so she had the last laugh.

She got lucky with that stupid scam thighmaster because she had NOTHING to do with creating it.

I highly doubt she ever used it regularly in private because she could afford much better equipment.

She's worth over $100 million mostly because of that stupid gadget.

It's not a "women in Hollywood" issue. Chuck Woolery tried the same thing on Wheel of Fortune, demanding a big raise, and they fired him too and brought in Pat Sajak. And it can still happen today. Terence Howard was let go from playing James Rhodes after Iron Man over salary demands. Anyone can ask for whatever they want in salary, but that doesn't mean they're going to get it.
